The Armchair Booker: Booking Debuting The Windham Six Faction.

The QR codes, references to cult classic and cryptic clues has had the WWE enthralled with the impending return of Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Six or The Cult of Windham, which either you prefer. It is all so interesting and capturing the imaginations of the WWE Universe. So much so even my sister, who I’ve been trying to get into professional wrestling longer than I can remember is intrigued by all these kayfabe conspiracy theories, outlandish ideas and heavy production value. All this is all exciting sending, social media into an absolute frenzy, and I am loving it. That being said, I have two concerns.

First of all, how does Bo & Co, make sure this story preserves the legacy of Windham Rotunda, or will it fall flat? Adding to this, I do worry about how this brilliant and well thought social media campaign will translate into the ring. I’m sure it will all be revealed in time, but here’s our pitch for the cult.

Where?

So, where to start…. I think we debut The Wyatt Six slowly, one or two members at a time. Instead of live in the flesh, give them an shaken camera out in the wild, similar to that of the Blair-Witch Project causing mayhem in their realm before showcasing them to the WWE Universe.

We finally meet them at Clash at the Castle, however, the group will not be in Scotland, we get a new QR Code, showing the therapist from the Wendy Lucho skits in the trunk of a car, tied up and sent to The Wyatt Compound where we meet them… but who is them?

Who?

A lot of predicting, pitching and patter about who is in this creepy cult of the creative genius that Bray Wyatt was? Revealing themselves one at a time, I see the obvious one first, which is Uncle Howdy, who is Bo Dallas, brother of Bray. It seems like Uncle Howdy has kayfabe killed off the therapist woman, in the name of RED, who is of course Bray Wyatt. He digs a grave for her, assisted by two large gentleman. They are unveiled as Joe Gacy and a returning Erick Rowan.

This becomes a sort of New Wyatt Family for a while. Further down the road we meet some members, this time we see a church where an widowed husband is painting a cryptic picture… ‘She is at her peace now. God, treat her with Mercy.’ The message spells out. The tortured artist is to be revealed as Dexter Lumis. ‘Do you wish to see her again?’ Uncle Howdy questions. ‘Follow the Buzzards, listen to the word of the RED.’ he adds. The group is now comprised of Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis, but whom is the undead bride? Alexa Bliss? Liv Morgan? Nikki Cross?, how about Indy Hartwell?

Set your minds back to prime WWE NXT 2.0, Hartwell’s and Lumis’ beautiful wedding segment. Perhaps the undead bride is that of the cheap and cheerful Indi Hartwell under a new gothic mysterious gimmick after losing the way and her hubby, where they will be reconnected in Uncle Howdy’s dark and tragic universe. Taking wrath on all that doubted their love, starting with Johnny Gargano and Candice La Rae, going to extreme length to disturb their former best pals, maybe even kidnapping their first born child Quill.

Finally, we get our final member of the Cult of the Red. A bit of a tricky sell this one immediately, but after all the cheap shots and set backs via Chad Gable, Otis regresses to this glutinous lummox, similar to that of, yes, you guessed it. Huskus the Pigboy!, he is almost groomed by the group with delightful treats and insatiable sweets. Bo and the rest of this spooky crew befriend this lost soul and he grows into a greedy soul, turning on AKIRA and Maxine before going full heel under the spell of The Cult of Red.

Why?

Not every story needs a championship, and I genuinely believe if this is done correctly WWE may have struck gold with the creative process, the QR codes and the build have been done absolutely stunningly, it would be a shame for WWE to fuck it up in the last round.

All this is a tribute to Bray Wyatt, right? So, I feel we play it out as just that with the cult of the red. A cult of lost souls that follow the word of the red right down to the script. Getting vengeance on those who hurt and betrayed Bray in the past from Alexa and Randy, to LA Knight, Lashley and Braun Strowman and possibly even a returning broken Matt Hardy. All of Bray’s old foes and frenemies have a choice to be hurt or healed… some join cult, others are… well let’s say put out of their misery.
