On AEW Dynamite, there was a gauntlet match to decide the next number one contender for Swerve Strickland’s AEW World’s Heavyweight Championship. Many of AEW’s best stepped up to the challenge as well as names from CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The match was a belting main event with incredible action and the odd surprise from the start to the final count. Who got that final count I hear you ask… Will Osprey.
Yes. that’s right, Will Osprey is the new number one contender for the AEW World’s championship. After a gruelling gauntlet match up, Osprey bested the likes of Mistico, PAC, Jay White and many more in this enthralling match up.
After defending his championship to likes of Christian Cage, Killswitch and Claudio Castagnoli. Swerve Strickland face the International Champion, Will Osprey at the Forbidden Door PPV.
Will Osprey will also defend his championship against Kyle O’Reilly on this weekend’s AEW Collision show.
